Welcome to the pond tadpoles!

 Do not procratinate!

Dear incoming frogs,

It is important to know what is expected of you as you move on from a fifth grader to a Fort Clarke frog. Sixth grade is a challenging year through making such a large transition, but if you keep up with your work, you will have an amazing time. To start, there is a plethora of tests, projects, and homework that comes with being a sixth grader. It may overwhelm you at first, but there are several ways to keep you from drowning in homework. The main way is to not procrastinate on work. If you wait until the last minute your work will be unacceptable. If you spread out your work through the amount of time given, you will be less overwhelmed. Make sure to study for tests ahead of time, or you will find it nearly impossible to learn the material.

Additionally, if you find yourself wanting to hang out with friends instead of doing homework, there is a way to help. First of all, you understand that you have to get homework done in order to maintain reasonable grades. But, at the same time, you see your friends outside playing baseball or even just sitting and talking. In order to keep from just going outside, designate a homework time. Spend time doing homework and then go and play with your friends. Sixth grade and the work that comes with it may seem difficult at first, but after you learn how to not procrastinate and manage your time wisely, it won’t seem as tough.
